Sunday April 14, 2019 – spring craft fair at the Belwood of Los Gatos cabaña, 11 am to 5 pm!
Over 40 local crafters, makers, and artists coming together for a day of Spring shopping! Just in time for Easter and Mother’s Day! You’re sure to find just the right gift for the people in your life. Handmade gifts are always a great way to show them you care! There will also be my succulent arrangements there to purchase as well as a DIY booth where you can make your own succulent terrarium! You don’t want to miss this!
Many thanks to Sandra Miller for letting me know about this event.
My daughter and I stopped in earlier and were very impressed by the offerings, so I’d encourage anyone to swing by and see the goods! Here are a few photos taken at the Belwood of Los Gatos cabana today.
It’s a perfect day for browsing and buying…
In addition to all of the outdoor tents or booths, there’s an indoor area also.
Items for sale include jewelry, home goods, and artistic creations of many kinds. There are snacks and coffee available for purchase also.
Some of my favorite items on display were the spiders and scorpions from Linda’s Obsession (Linda Fussell). If you cannot get to today’s craft fair, you can find her goods on Etsy at Etsy.com/shop/lindasobsession.
Stop by the Belwood of Los Gatos cabaña is Saturday between 10 and 6 on Saturday, November 10th, and take in the annual holiday boutique! Find items for the holidays, including Thanksgiving, to enjoy yourself or to give as gifts. A wide variety of offerings inclue jewelry, baked goods, photographs, Christmas decor, wine art and lighted wine bottles. ALL ARE WELCOME!
Saturday November 10, 2018
From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Belwood of Los Gatos Cabaña Club
100 Belwood Gateway (cross street Blossom Hill Road)
Los Gatos CA 95032
The Belwood of Los Gatos community is hosting its annual Independence Day or 4th of July celebration and the details are announced on the Belwood HOA website. (Quick note: A parade begins at Cabana at 1pm. The neighborhood festivities run from 1 – 5 at the cabaña. Read all about it on the Belwood HOA site!)
Please note that since the weather is warm, dry, and windy, the risk of fire danger is high right now. A sign at Belgatos Park warns that viewing fireworks is strictly prohibited.
Got Facebook? If so, you might consider “liking” the Belwood Cabaña page on Facebook. They are great at keeping people updated on neighborhood events (this is not my page, btw). That’s where I first learned that the holiday is being celebrated in traditional fashion.
Another “Bingo and Movie Nights” is planned for this summer for cabaña members and residents of Belwood, Surmont and Belgatos on Tuesday, July 3rd will be Wonderwoman. Friday July 20th will be a Bingo AND movie night, with the featured film being Black Panther. There will be one more on Saturday, August 11th – the film is not yet announced.
Bring something comfy to sit on – blankets, sleeping bags, lawn chairs etc. Popcorn, cotton candy, and other treats are available for purchase!
For more information, keep an eye on the Belwood HOA website page for bingo and movie nights.
Midway through a major election year, voting on a few measures and maybe the presidential primary may not be at the top of everyone’s To Do List. In the Belwood-Belgatos area, we’re fortunate that our polling place is extremely local – the cabaña at 100 Belwood Gateway. Stop on by – lines are short and the folks handing out the ballots are very nice. It’s a good reason to take a few minutes out of your regular day. And the bonus for all of us is that it’s such a scenic place.
Enjoy a visual tour through the neighborhood, from east to west: Alerche area, Belwood of Los Gatos neighborhood, Belgatos Park (extensive photos), Belgatos area, and the Surmont subdivision, which includes some view homes.
Volunteers are needed on Saturday October 26th to set up the haunted house (for the next day) and also on Sunday beginning at 3pm. Help on Saturday, then stay for the movie night, which begins at 7pm!
The annual Belwood Halloween Party is Sunday, October 27, from 3 – 6pm at the Cabaña.
3:00pm: Games (and prizes) on the Cabaña lawn
3:30 Magic Mirror opens
4:00pm: Pizza & drinks for sale
5:00pm: Haunted house tours begin
6:00pm: End of Party & Clean-up
Help is needed – volunteers are sought to help with the games, haunted house actors and others to help with the food & drinks plus setup. Teenagers can use this as an opportunity to accumulate Community Service hours.
If you’d like to sign up as a volunteer, please contact Michelle Heap at 356-8482 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
In case you didn’t see the Belwood of Los Gatos “Bellringer” article, I have asked three neighbors with solar installations to tell us about their experiences. This won’t be a sales pitch – just neighbors telling other neighbors about their experiences.
The panelists are Zeny Seid, Roger Kent, and Evan Culp, all on Bacigalupi Drive.
They will sit at the front of the room and field questions from anyone who wants to come.
I have invited a couple of solar firms to be available for those who would like to talk to them, but the panelists are all just Belwood residents like you and me.
Please do come. I am sure you have questions (like I do) about whether or not solar’s a good idea. This should be a chance to learn a lot from people who have been through all those questions.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or suggestions.
Many thanks to Edwin Swartz for letting us know that there will be a meeting March 26th at 7:30 in the evening with representatives of PGE and town staff regarding the explosion at the corner of Westhill, and Belblossom Drive. The meeting will be at the cabaña club, and the neighborhood is invited to come with their questions.
