Volunteers are needed on Saturday October 26th to set up the haunted house (for the next day) and also on Sunday beginning at 3pm. Help on Saturday, then stay for the movie night, which begins at 7pm!
The annual Belwood Halloween Party is Sunday, October 27, from 3 – 6pm at the Cabaña.
Per the Belwood HOA website and the Bellringer newsletter:
3:00pm: Games (and prizes) on the Cabaña lawn
3:30 Magic Mirror opens
4:00pm: Pizza & drinks for sale
5:00pm: Haunted house tours begin
6:00pm: End of Party & Clean-up
Help is needed – volunteers are sought to help with the games, haunted house actors and others to help with the food & drinks plus setup. Teenagers can use this as an opportunity to accumulate Community Service hours.
If you’d like to sign up as a volunteer, please contact Michelle Heap at 356-8482 or email@example.com.
In case you didn’t see the Belwood of Los Gatos “Bellringer” article, I have asked three neighbors with solar installations to tell us about their experiences. This won’t be a sales pitch – just neighbors telling other neighbors about their experiences.
The panelists are Zeny Seid, Roger Kent, and Evan Culp, all on Bacigalupi Drive.
They will sit at the front of the room and field questions from anyone who wants to come.
I have invited a couple of solar firms to be available for those who would like to talk to them, but the panelists are all just Belwood residents like you and me.
Please do come. I am sure you have questions (like I do) about whether or not solar’s a good idea. This should be a chance to learn a lot from people who have been through all those questions.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or suggestions.
Many thanks to Edwin Swartz for letting us know that there will be a meeting March 26th at 7:30 in the evening with representatives of PGE and town staff regarding the explosion at the corner of Westhill, and Belblossom Drive. The meeting will be at the cabaña club, and the neighborhood is invited to come with their questions.
If you live near Belwood Gateway, be sure to attend the traffic calming meeting at the neighborhood cabana on Wednesday, May 11th from 6:30 to 8pm. Be on time as the agenda and discussion periods are chronological and all of it will be relevant to our neighborhood traffic patterns.
If you’d like more information, call the Los Gatos Parks and Public Works Department at 408 399-5770.
See you there!
Did you know that the Belwood of Los Gatos cabaña can be rented by members for a variety of purposes?
Today (Saturday, August 25) the Leigh High School cheerleaders held a carwash fundraiser in the cabaña parking lot from 9am – 1pm. My family and I have rented it in the past for parties; most notably we did an 8th grade reunion party there for our son’s class from St. Mary’s Elementary School a year after the kids all graduated. A lot of people rent it for birthday parties and use the large lawn area for the “bounce houses” which are so popular with kids today.
Belwood cabaña collage - auto club met not too long ago - a fun sight!
Having a neighborhood cabaña is a nice plus. It can be a gathering point for folks to meet their neighbors in and around the pool.
In the Surmont, Belgatos, and Belwood neighborhoods, the cabaña is where we vote, it’s where we enjoy the summer bingo & movie on the lawn and where the holiday boutiques are held.
If you’re a member or resident and want to rent out the facility, your go-to person is Gina Wagner, who can be reached at 358-2229. The possibilities are endless!
Sunday October 26th from 3:30 – 6pm (free admission but donations appreciated) – games, prizes, candy, costumes and “the magic mirror”. Spooky haunted house tours begin at 5pm.
Pizza and Drinks served at 4pm (Pizza $2, Drinks $1).
Volunteers are needed to help with this incredibly fun event. Please contact Charleen Renati at 358-7905 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Things have been hopping in east Los Gatos.
Over the weekend, the Belwood of Los Gatos community participated in the “Community Yard Sale” that was happening throughout the town of Los Gatos. The cabaña was a busy place with folks selling their wares at what seemed like a good clip. Additionally, neighbors held yard sales in their own driveways and front yards too, as was the case all over this part of Silicon Valley.
The pool is open and swimmers are happy as the heat has been bearing down on us. To see about scheduling a party there (if you are a cabana member), see the Belwood Community’s website.
Real estate update
The real estate market is busy in Belwood, Belgatos, and Surmont too. There are now seven active listings and two pending sales in these three areas. As with other parts of town, not all homes are selling – only the ones perceived as being “the best value” for the money are getting offers and going to closing.
(For more information on the housing market, please click on the Real Estate button above.)
If you’d like information related to your particular Los Gatos or Silicicon Valley home, please email or phone me! I’d be happy to meet with you, view your home and discuss your wants and needs as relating to buying or selling a home.
